It is so cold during winters and quite frustrating that you feel like using the toilet often. The reason this happens is because when you feel cold, in an attempt to protect the internal organs, your body increases blood flow to the organs while constricting blood vessels in the skin and body’s extremities. This action signals the kidneys to eliminate excess fluid which is thrown out as urine and the phenomenon is called cold diuresis. This results in an increase in blood pressure. In addition to this we also sweat less in winter so that also adds to the frequency of urination.
But this does not resolve by drinking less water during cold weather. Rather, low water intake might even lead to dehydration. What you need to do instead is – STAY WARM!!
Your body will not need to go through cold diuresis if you just STAY WARM.
