We worry a lot about memory these days.
People complain about brain fog, poor focus, low energy, and forgetting simple things. They assume it’s stress, ageing, or “too much work.”
But very few people look at what’s actually happening on their plate.
Breakfast is usually skipped. Lunch is something quick from outside.
Then somewhere around 3 PM the brain stops cooperating.
Concentration disappears. Energy crashes. You read the same email three times and still can’t process it. And the solution? Another cup of coffee.
So evening comes with tea/coffee, biscuits, or a packet of “low fat” chips. Dinner is a large plate of white rice or three rotis followed by dessert because “I deserve it.”
Here’s the simple reality.
Your brain runs primarily on stable glucose supply. Not sugar spikes. Not crashes. Not “I haven’t eaten for 6 hours so now I’ll eat everything in sight.”
When most of your meals are built around refined carbs, sugar, and processed snacks, your blood sugar goes on a rollercoaster. Spike. Crash. Spike again.
Your brain is sitting in the front seat of that ride.
No wonder focus disappears.
Add to that poor protein intake, no good fats, low fibre, barely any micronutrients, and you’ve essentially created the perfect recipe for brain fog.
But instead of fixing the food, we try the next trending energy drink or buy another “brain supplement.”
Sometimes the problem is much simpler.
Your brain isn’t confused.
It’s just underfed, over-spiked, and slightly exhausted from trying to function on substandard food combinations.
Focusing on balancing your meals is not only about losing weight. It changes your life, permanently. Will you give it a try?
